Is buying skin care ingredients better than purchasing exspensive natural skin care brands?

I’ve been purchasing expensive brands like Ilike and Eminence organics.

I’d like to try being more creative and start buying skin care ingredients, make my own mixtures…
Do you think it’s better to keep buying exclusive natural/organic skin care brands or will I get the same results using skin care ingredients from a good online buyer?
Are there any cons and pros for both options?
