Organic dog food. Is it worth the money?

Timberwolf is an excellent brand and your dog will be grateful if you try it. It’s got healthy ingredients and dogs seem to like it a lot.

To be honest, a dog isn’t that picky. Using organic food or not won’t particularly make a difference. The only reason they really released it and promoted it specifically as organic is so that owners will think is better for their dog, which it probably is, but it’s not worth the increase in price.

There are no standards set for “organic” pet foods as there are for human foods. Timberwolf is a good brand. See also, Nature’s Variety, Solid Gold, Innova, and Wysong.

All great foods that are not part of the recall!

sure it is. Did you know that most regular dog food have newpaper in them? dogs in the wild or dogs long ago didn’t eat special dog food and they lived to be older than dogs that are living right now

Although organic is in the title, Timberwolf Organic is not an organic dog food. I feed it to my dog, none of the ingredients are organic, but they are human grade and there are no fillers or artificial preservatives, dyes, wheat, or corn. It’s a great dogfood choice.

Yes! An excellent food. Congrats for doing the extra research and helping your dog to lead a longer life.

sure, maybe a dog can eat road kill and live to be 20, but that doesn’t mean it should.
The thing with organic and other natural dog food is that , one, they usually contain no grains, which are useless fillers with no nutritional value for your dog. Second, they use human grade meats, not the leftovers from the slaughterhouse. This means that , though it is more expensive, you are getting the most for your money. You can feed less, so the food lasts longer, cancelling out the fact that it costs so much.
Just like any organic foods, they are free from pesticides, growth hormones and other chemicals. This is great for your pets. Some will argue that they drink out of mud puddles and eat dead possums, so eating cheap food is “natural” for them, but there are no growth hormones in that possum, and well, now there are, but a long time ago, there were no chemicals in that pond water.
Timberwolf is a great food, try it out and let us know.

When you think about it, what does your dog need from its food in order to be healthy?

Today our pets have a wide variety to meet their tastes and needs and we have our choice of what kind of food we can choose to feed them. Despite the variety, pet foods usually fall into three major categories. These categories are: Grocery store foods, these types of dog and pet foods are usually found in grocery stores and mass marketed retailers and can contain lower quality, less expensive ingredients. The second category is “premium dog foods,” which can also be found in grocery’s stores but are also found in pet stores and through your local veterinarian’s office. These types of foods are usually made from some higher quality ingredients and are usually made evident by the expense of the food. Some of these pet foods though can contain lower quality ingredients that you aren’t aware of. The third and final category is homemade dog food.More and more people are beginning to make their dog’s food at home rather than buying commercial formulas. Homemade dog food doesn’t contain any substances that could possibly be harmful to your dog’s health such as artificial coloring and artificial flavors.

Another reason to make homemade dog food is the preservatives added to the commercial dog food. Homemade dog food has the benefit of optimum freshness without preservatives.

There are dogs that would greatly benefit from a homemade diet. Some dogs who suffer from allergies that cause severe itching may find relief once switched from commercial dog food to a homemade diet.

Processed dog food is a relatively new product and scientists don’t fully understand the differences between commercial food and a diet of fresh food. There may be problems occurring in a dog’s health because he is being given food that has had the nutrients cooked out of it and then sprayed back on.

Would you like to prolong the quality and length of your dog’s life by 135%?You should keep your dog healthy by homemade dog food.
