I have just come across websites about what is truly in canned dog foods such as Mighty Dog and Pedigree. I am now looking to buy natural/organic canned dog food for a reasonable price. Can anyone suggest any brands? Does anyone use any type of organic food for their dog? Thanks!

When it comes to your dog health there is no “reasonably priced” crap. Cut down on your make up.
I recommend any of the products by Orijen or Nutra. I use Orijen in my English Bulldog who are known to have digestive issues, and he has no problem.
Both companies use single source protein, and their products do not contain any wheat or other grains, only organic beef, fish, lamb, veggies, and fruit.

Costco’s Kirkland brand it is the generic version of Diamond.
That is the cheapest food that is still okay in my opinion. People on a forum I go to are complaining about canidae right now. They(many owners) have found big black hard chunks in it, and some found peanuts in it. I would stay away from it until the inconsistencies are resolved.
I don’t know how your budget is but you could mix the kirkland with Orijen. That way your bag of Orijen lasts longer.
Also, if anyone mentions Innova red meat to you be aware people (many people) are complaining about finding tons of hair white and black in the middle when they break it apart. I just read about this today. Here is the link to that. And, one of my pals posted a picture of the food with the hair in it on this link.
I don’t use organic foods for my dogs, but I do try to use human grade food for my dogs. Anything organic as you know in both human and dog food will of course increase the price. The difference in human grade food is that the ingredients although not organic are kept to the same standards as ingredients in any human food.
As you now know that dog food does not have a standard and often has unhealthy ingredients.
I use Canidae.
Other good brands I know of (and there are many more) are Solid Gold, Wellness, Natural Balance, chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul, Blue
I prefer Orijen myself. If it helps, can help you pick out a high quality food.
Canidae is also a popular, high quality food. I think it runs about $35 for a 40lb bag.

I feed my dog Wellness pet food, it has great quality ingredients and I think it is reasonably priced. Other brands you may want to look at are Solid Gold, Instinct, Evolve are also great foods too.
i use blue buffalo, and taste of the wild. i don’t know what you would consider a reasonable price…….sometimes you get what you pay for. both of those are about $35 for a 25 pound bag. i personally don’t think that’s bad, because i want to make sure i feed my dog high quality food. he does very well on both of them. they are both organic.
